Laser vs Electrolysis
Tuesday, 01 February 2011 11:34

Electrolysis eradicates hair permanently, while with laser hair removal, you may need regular maintenance treatments to keep hair away. In stubborn cases, hair grows back and your investment in laser treatments is wasted.

Laser treatments have many cons over electrolysis.
     - Laser cannot be done near the eye, on the eyebrows
     - Lasers are really only effective on people with very light skin and dark hair
     - Laser is not permanent

Although electrolysis may take longer because each hair has to be treated, the end result of electrolysis is permenant hair removal.

Why do electrolysis on the eyebrow? Why choose Epilait?
Wednesday, 26 January 2011 16:05

Pulling the upper lid with waxing, threading, or tweezing can lead to premature sagging, while electrolysis leaves your skin intact. Electrolysis is a very precise treatment, which is ideal for shaping the eyebrow because it is carefully outlined and controlled.

Laer hair removal cannot be performed on the eyebrow because it could damage the iris and surrounding tissue so it is too risky. The risks are well known and documented.

As you see eyebrow shaping is a bit of an art. At Epilait, we offer an in-depth brow consultation where we will determine your facial shape and outline your ideal brow. Electrolysis is the only FDA method of permanent hair so you never have to worry about your brows again!

Long-term problems of eyebrow shaping habits (waxing, threading, & tweezing)
Thursday, 20 January 2011 09:13

“Stop pulling the hair”

One of the most delicate areas of the face is the eyebrow.  The skin is very thin and sensitive.  The upper eyelid skin can begin to sag in individuals as early as their twenties.  Over the long term, repetitive pulling of the upper eyelid can lead to a loss of elasticity and strength in the skin.  Once this happens, the skin is then more prone to premature sagging.

Why risk it, try electrolysis. It leaves your skin intact and it’s permanent.

The Art of Shaping the Eyebrow

“Your brows should be as fashionable as you are”

alt src=http://www.epilait.com/images/stories/brows.jpg

Shaping the eyebrow is an art, but here are some tips about what the ideal brow should look like on a symmetrical face:

  • The eyebrow should begin on the outer corner of the eye and should line up with the outer corner of the nose.
  • The outside edge of the iris should line up with the highest point of the arch.
  • Ending point should measure from the center of the upper lip to the outside edge of the nose to the outside edge of the eye
  • The distance between the eye and the brow should be the as the distance between the nose and upper lip.
For close or wide set eyes the correct proportional distance is still one eye’s width

Electrolysis versus laser hair removal: specifically for the eyebrows
Wednesday, 22 December 2010 17:17

Laser hair removal should not be performed in the eyebrow area because it is too risky.  It’s been well documented that the side effects can be the following.

  1. Iris atrophy & posterior synechiae
  2. Iris damage & acute pigment dispersion
  3. Irreversible cataract
  4. Inflammation of the interior eye area

Electrolysis is safe and permanent!
